Howard Louie - Chairman & Chief Executive Officer
Howard Louie, a co-founder of the company, has served as a founder, director and/or officer in leading the management team of several public companies over the past 20 years. At the executive management level, he has been involved in the process of restructuring and advising both private and public companies regarding mergers and acquisitions, capital and investment financing, international business development, as well as joint venture and market penetration strategies.
During his distinguished career, Mr. Louie has successfully implemented business strategies on international market penetration for various business initiatives including the identifying, negotiating and completion of cross border transactions resulting in joint ventures and or licensing agreements with market-dominating multinationals, and bringing together international investment capital.
Past non-business directorships include a member of the board for the Sunnyhill Children's hospital and Overseas Council Canada -- a privately funded organisation providing for scholarships and facility development for third world country educational development. Mr. Louie continues to be active in the non-profit sector including long standing volunteer work with international aid groups, including a particular focus on needy children. For business and leisure, Mr. Louie enjoys longstanding memberships with the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club, and The Vancouver Club.

| | | Garth Greenham - Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Garth Greenham's experience includes 15 years in management with Johnson & Johnson (McNeil Pharmaceutical) where he directed many key global product markets in the human health care area. After Johnson & Johnson, Mr. Greenham became director of sales, marketing and operations for Aqua Health Ltd. where, over a nine year period, he helped the company grow into the world-leader in the field of animal vaccines, primarily aquaculture. Aqua Health was a subsidiary of Cobequid Life Sciences, a TSE listed company that was purchased in 2000 by Novartis Inc. He subsequently served as president and director of the post acquisition company. Mr. Greenham is a co-founder of Phycobiologics Inc. (recently acquired by Functional Technologies) and currently also serves on the board of the Prince Edward Island BioAlliance. As Functional Technologies' chief operating officer, he is responsible for directing the strategic planning and execution of commercial production, and the sales roll-out of the company's proprietary yeast and next generation food and health technologies products.

| | | Dr. Michael Horne - Chief Scientific Officer
Michael Horne is an internationally regarded scientist that has led numerous scientific teams in the successful development and production of commercial human and animal health care products. Dr. Horne has a demonstrated expertise in micro-organism product development in the commercial business sector. Most recently, he held the position of Director of Research in the animal health division of Novartis AG. While at Novartis, he played a leading role in the expansion of the company's aquaculture franchise, including the development of the world's first commercialized, fully licensed DNA vaccine. He is the author of more than 100 technical, scientific and general publications, and participates on numerous international scientific committees.
As the Company's Chief Scientific Officer, Dr. Horne will devote himself full-time to leading and mentoring Functional Technologies' growing research and development team; supporting the commercial development and roll-out of the Company's proprietary Phyterra branded yeast and micro-algae derived products; and expanding the Company's product pipeline through the development of new and next generation products and technologies that are identified as having commercial market applications in the functional foods and health products markets. He will be based in the United Kingdom in order to provide the Company with key visibility in the important European market and help facilitate Functional Technologies' future expansion into Europe.

| | | Geoffrey Lee, M.B.A. - President & Chief Financial Officer
Geoff Lee, a co-founder of First Venture Capital Corporation, has served in leading management positions with several private and public companies. His business initiatives have involved concept development, product creation, investment analysis and business development, operations management and implementation, and the internationalization of commercial services and technologies.
Geoff has successfully initiated and implemented strategies that have enabled several companies to develop into market leaders in their business sectors. This history includes developing and implementing of one of the most progressive restaurant and wine merchandising programs in North America; identifying and securing relationships with market leading multinational companies to bring businesses, and innovative products and brands to an international market place in the technology sector; internationalizing businesses to enable successful operation in local markets; and securing strategic investment capital. Most recently, Geoff worked with senior management to establish Functional Technologies' wholly-owned operating company in Napa, California.

| | | Dr. Manuel Carpio - Production and Quality Assurance
Dr. Manuel Carpio is a former director of the Technology Transfer Group at Connaught Laboratories and Pasteur Merieux. He brings a broad range of biologics experience including process and production development, quality control and assurance, facility design and scale up, and human resources development and training. Dr. Carpio is the author of Functional Technologies' earlier released pre-feasibility study into the development of the company's own lab and production facilities. At the newly established Atlantic division in Charlottetown, PEI, he is leading the scientific team in the areas of production, process and facility development, and quality control and assurance. Dr. Carpio has the dual function of co-managing the production scale up of Functional Technologies' proprietary yeasts as well as co-managing downstream products and intellectual property.

| | | Hogan Mullally, M.B.A. - Vice President, Investor Relations
Hogan Mullally has nine years of experience working in the life science and pharmaceutical industry. Mr. Mullally was formerly the Director of Investor Relations and Business Development at a TSX and AMEX listed Canadian life science company. During this three year tenure, he led that company's investor relations program; including earning both Canadian and U.S. equity research coverage, and expanding its institutional shareholder base throughout North America and Europe. Prior to his investor relations experience, he spent six years in sales with Fournier Pharma and 3M Canada. Mr. Mullally completed his MBA, specializing in finance, at the Asper School of Business at the University of Manitoba.
As vice president of investor relations, Mr. Mullally works with Functional Technologies' senior management to further develop and implement the company's investor relations program. With his past experience and knowledge of both the North American and European institutional investment communities, he is working to increase the company's capital market visibility.

David Allard joined the company's Board of Directors in January 2001. David is a partner in the Corporate/Commercial, Securities and Technology Law Groups at the law firm Lawson, Lundell. Prior to this, he practiced for two years with a large international law firm in London, England. Mr. Allard was called to the British Columbia bar in 1987. He holds an LLB from UBC and a B.C.L. from the Oxford University. His professional memberships include: The Continuing Legal Education Society of British Columbia - Corporate Law Advisory Board, the International Bar Association, and the BC Biotechnology Alliance.

Ron Paton practices business law in association with the Vancouver law firm, Maitland & Company in representing both public and private company clients. He received his law degree from UBC (LL.B. 1988) and was called to the British Columbia bar in 1989. Ron has served as an officer and director of several public and private companies and has experienced the unique challenges and opportunities presented in the early stages of development and commercialization.

| | | Fabio Banducci, M.B.A., CFA - Director
Fabio Banducci is a seasoned businessman and wine enthusiast. Mr. Banducci is President of Peer 1 Network Enterprises, Inc. (TSXV: PIX). He previously spent 12 years with Haywood Securities Inc. where he served as a Director and head of the firm's Corporate Finance department. He has been directly involved in numerous financial transactions in the private and public markets, both domestically and internationally, and has advised companies on matters relating to mergers and acquisitions, regulatory compliance and corporate governance. Mr. Banducci obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science degree from UBC, and an MBA from McGill University. He is a CFA charterholder and member of the Vancouver Society of Financial Analysts.
True to his heritage, Mr. Banducci's interest in the wine industry extends to his early youth when he worked in vineyards in the Okanagan Valley and then in later years when he studied and worked in Italy. He is also now the proud owner of a fully productive vineyard in the Okanagan. Mr. Banducci's skills in business finance and his working experience in the wine industry will be an asset to the company as it builds its presence in the wine community.

| | | Gerri Greenham - Director
Gerri Greenham is a successful entrepreneur in the biotechnology field and is an early-stage investor in the Company. His past experience is highlighted by his role as co-founder, President and CEO of Cobequid Life Sciences. Cobequid, at the time an early-stage pre-revenue fish vaccine business, was acquired from Connaught Laboratories Ltd. in 1984. Under Mr. Greenham's leadership, Cobequid became a world-leader in animal health vaccines. He took this company from a research and development stage to global scale commercial production. This endeavor included setting up production and distribution internationally in a highly regulated global industry; and achieved multi-million dollar sales. The company, listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange, was subsequently acquired by Swiss-pharma giant Novartis Life Sciences in 2000. Mr. Greenham is a recipient of a Canada Export Award from International Trade Canada, which recognizes successful Canadian companies that export and market their products and services to markets around the world. Mr. Greenham continues to be active internationally in the bio-life sciences industry.
Mr. Greenham brings a strong and proven business skill set to Functional Technologies' Advisory Board. He has succeeded in taking an R&D biotech project to commercialization; setup and run production and distribution operations for a global market; and financed his initiatives through private means, public markets and government programs. Most significantly he has successfully competed with "major multi-national" competitors to the point where they have had to deal with or acquire his businesses. He is one who has actually been there and done it successfully. His active counsel to Functional Technologies will include leading the Company's commercialization initiatives from an advisory and strategy perspective.
